a week from now, and day 1 bts of shooting “sundays”!
nothing has ever come closer to me being in my element, aside from writing ofc, than the very first time i stepped foot on set. shadowing for a local film being shot here, in the motherland by diaspora, was such a pleasure! so much so that i actually didn’t mind being outta the house before 6:45 in the morning—like do y’all even know what that means to me, ms. chronically late?? 😭
and they be right when they say breakfast is the most important meal of the day. i was so energized, i almost didn’t want to sleep when i got home. i’d been so active on set i didn’t really mind that we went over the allotted time. i got to make suggestions, assist actors & the production crew, take in the scenery of the countryside, and laugh til my insides caved in. i had a great time, learning things & making connections to last a lifetime. anyway, i’m ecstatic about seeing this short film come to screens—and for my lil cameo, if it makes it in there.
p.s., shoutout to ms. ‘martha’ for the ixora ‘honeysuckle’ bracelet!
below, i have a slideshow of some shots i got throughout the day. enjoy!
